The 2008-2009 School year marks the 8th year for annual NM RoboRAVE International robotics competitions in New Mexico. We are very excited about the upcoming 2008-2009 School Year. Players (students) will come from around NM, TX and Northern Mexico with coaches (adults) for a day of dynamic, exciting STEMpendous competitions to increase our youth’s interest in STEM disciplines.
The NM RoboRAVE International is an annual robot competition for middle and high school aged students that compete for cash, awards, trophies, banners and prizes with line-following robots. Two to four person teams prepare project portfolios, use inter-team blogs to share information as they work to interface sensors, motor drives, delivery systems and programming to compete in a variety of robot challenges (line following to fire-fighting) during timed heats. In between heats, teams use their PIT area to redesign, rethink and reprogram for increased performance for the next heat.

This year we are offering a monetary incentive for each organization registers and competes at our event. Each organization will receive the amount of $125.00 worth of robot supplies at NM RoboRAVE International for their program (items such as robot sensors, rechargeable batteries, Lego pieces, practice tracks and flash drives). We hope earning up to $125 this year helps you understand our event motto – “Today’s PLAY, Tomorrow’s PAY” is not just for the kids but your program too!
Due to the growth in interest and hence costs for our program, we are implementing a nominal registration fee for each organization this year. The fee is only $50 for the first ten (10) teams and then $25 for each set of ten (10) teams over your first 10. This fee can be paid in any variety of ways such as online, check, or PO so just contact our office for assistance in making this payment if our on-line method is not suitable.
